Neuropsychology Fellow

Santiago J. Palmer-Cancel is a postdoctoral fellow in clinical neuropsychology, born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from Ponce Health Sciences University and completed his pre-doctoral internship with rotations in general psychology at the PHSU Wellness Center and clinical neuropsychology at the Skilled Nursing Facility in Hospital Damas, with an emphasis in cognitive rehabilitation. Dr. Palmer-Cancel is particularly interested in the psychosocial impact of acquired brain injuries on patients and their families. Following completion of his postdoctoral fellowship, he aims to pursue board-certification in clinical neuropsychology and to return to Puerto Rico to open an interdisciplinary clinic where patients with neurological conditions and their families can receive comprehensive treatment interventions to help aid in their adjustment to their conditions.
